The duo Mel & Kim who had huge success in 1986 and 1987 chats to Terry Wogan in this video. Melanie had just gone through months of cancer treatment. They talked about their success, the past year, and their future plans. Mel was so adorable here. What a strong woman! And loving sister Kim would have done anything for her. When Mel wore a wig, Kim did too. In a later interview when Mel had little hair, Kim had cut her hair. They were such an inseparable team. I really love them both. I hope Kim is doing well now.

I’ll be honest – I cried through the whole interview. I love Mel & Kim. They were a great team. And I only learned yesterday that Mel was one of my favorite girls from Mayfair and Players magazines (nudes). I just never out the two together. She was so beautiful and sexy. This video makes me very sad. She was so young and talented and I know that it really hurt Kim. It shows in later interviews with her. There will never be another like them and certainly isn’t today. They were awesome! Luv ‘em

So so tragic, I’ll never forget when this news broke. And of course she never recovered, and died very soon afterwards. Such a brave girl, the 80s would not have been the same without her.

Thanks so much for posting this interview on Youtube. I am so thrilled to see this old Wogan interview. I grew up in England loving Mel & Kim’s music in the 80s. I have never seen this interview nor seen those two speaking in person. Hearing Mel speak, she sounded awesome with her sense of humour and that boisterous laugh of hers! Kim is fab too. Thanks again for sharing this!

Being from Hamilton, AL myself, I see Clay quite often. Mostly on Friday nights when he’s helping coach our high school’s football team, sometimes even in the classroom when he subs in for another teacher. It’s pretty amazing to see someone you know so well, be such an inspiration to others. What they said is true though. Clay’s limitless, and refuses to back down to everyday challenges that people like us wouldn’t think twice about. Right behind you Coach Dyer…

i know this inspired feeling will only last like 10 minutes it will all go back to, what i had is different from his, he is born with it that why he can accept it, my life was never like this, GOD must have punished me…
